Job Summary
As a Level II Product Engineer, the successful candidate will interface with other team members representing a wide range of engineering disciplines, including: Electrical, Mechanical, Software, Test, Optical, Quality, Reliability and System. With product responsibility, the successful candidate will lead the coordination of specifications between these groups, support customer product integrations, troubleshoot issues, conduct tests, analyze yield trends and product specific data, recommend product / process improvements, drive the completion of product validations and qualifications, and maintain product documentation, all with the goal of developing the best infrared sensor technology in the industry.
Job Responsibilities
Responsible for technical activity and completion of assigned tasks, both on time and within budget
Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, test systems or subsystems
Act as technical applications interface to both internal & external customers using DRS products
Review customer specifications and requirements, and develop test designs that best support them
Establish and implement product design and manufacturing process changes to reduce cost and improve performance
Identify yield limits and recommend changes to increase manufacturing margin
Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and customers, as required
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Strong understanding of the fundamentals of circuit analysis
Hands-on experience in electronics test lab environment
Ability to work independently or with multiple teams, on multiple assignments
Provide budget, cost and schedule inputs for product support tasks
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS
U.S. Citizenship is required
Bachelors of Science or higher level degree in Electrical Engineering
2+ years experience in Product, Applications or Equivalent Engineering Discipline
Desired Skills
Python, C, C++, C#, , Visual Basic, VB Scripting or equivalent programming language
Familiarity with driving failure analysis of semiconductor devices to root cause and corrective action
Compliance testing and/or characterization of infrared or equivalent 2D imaging sensors is a plus.
Familiarity with MatLab, ImageJ or similar software tools for evaluating / processing image data
Familiarity with Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, and DMMs
Other higher level languages
U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
