Product Design Engineer – Sheet Metal & Injection Molding

Lomanco, Inc. is seeking a Product Design Engineer with experience in sheet metal product design, stamping/forming processes, and plastic injection molded part design. This position will work closely with manufacturing, tooling, maintenance, and engineering teams to develop and support high-volume manufactured products from concept through production.

The ideal candidate understands how products are actually manufactured — including tooling limitations, forming operations, assembly methods, tolerances, and design-for-manufacturability principles — not just conceptual CAD design.

Responsibilities
Design and develop sheet metal and plastic injection molded products for high-volume manufacturing
Create and maintain 3D models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks
Work with tooling suppliers and internal teams regarding progressive dies, transfer dies, forming operations, and tooling improvements
Support product prototyping, testing, validation, and production implementation
Collaborate with manufacturing and maintenance teams on assembly methods, fixtures, automation, and process improvements
Support engineering documentation, BOMs, ECOs/ECNs, and PDM systems
Participate in product improvement, quality, and cost-reduction initiatives
Assist with technical evaluations and design-for-manufacturing reviews
