Product Assurance Engineer – Mechanical Systems
Position Overview
We are hiring a Product Assurance Engineer to support the development and production of high-reliability mechanical systems for space applications. This role focuses on ensuring that all hardware meets stringent quality, safety, and performance requirements throughout its lifecycle.
You will work cross-functionally with design, manufacturing, and test teams to ensure first-time-right execution and robust flight readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Define and implement product assurance processes for mechanical subsystems
Conduct in-process inspections and enforce quality hold/witness points
Review and approve manufacturing and test documentation
Oversee qualification and acceptance testing, including environmental campaigns
Manage nonconformance reporting, disposition, and corrective actions
Support supplier oversight and acceptance activities
Maintain assurance documentation including risk assessments, waivers, and compliance reports
Track fleet-wide performance trends and drive reliability improvements
Requirements
Engineering degree (Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems, or similar)
Background in quality, reliability, or product assurance engineering
Experience with mechanical hardware in regulated industries (aerospace preferred)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred
Experience with spacecraft or flight hardware
Familiarity with AIV/AIT environments
Knowledge of ECSS or NASA standards
Exposure to PLM systems and configuration control
