About the role
Nexus Semiconductor Recruitment is hiring Process Engineers on behalf of wafer fab clients across the US. Openings span 200mm and 300mm facilities, mature analog technologies through 28nm and below, covering both high volume manufacturing support and process development.
Multiple openings across the following process areas:
Photolithography and advanced patterning
Dry etch and plasma etch, FEOL isolation, gate and contact, BEOL via and trench
Wet etch, clean and surface preparation
Chemical mechanical polishing (CMP)
Thin films, PVD and diffusion
Copper plating, barrier and seed
Process and device integration
Yield enhancement and defect metrology
Responsibilities
Own process performance within your module, including yield, defect density, tool availability and cost per wafer
Perform lot and equipment dispositions to maintain continuous production flow and minimize cycle time
Develop and implement improved manufacturing methods, procedures and process controls
Design and execute experiments and DOEs, analyze inline and end-of-line data, and drive root cause to closure on process and equipment issues
Support technology ramp through equipment and process startup, process qualification and new product introduction
Identify systematic process or equipment problems and communicate findings to the wider engineering group
Collaborate across process engineering, equipment engineering, integration, operations and R&D
Work onsite and respond to evening and weekend escalations as required
Required qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
Minimum 2 years of process engineering experience in a semiconductor wafer fab
Hands-on ownership of at least one process module
Working knowledge of statistical process control, engineering change control and process release strategies
Demonstrated analytical and structured problem solving ability
Preferred qualifications
Master's or PhD for process development and integration positions
5+ years for senior manufacturing and development roles, 7+ years for integration at expert level
Experience supporting advanced technology nodes, 28nm and below
Experience with Design of Experiments, yield analysis tools and metrology data interpretation
Experience with equipment and chemical supplier engagement for new process introduction
