Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Design Engineer role based in New York, NY. The PCB Design Engineer will design and develop PCB layouts for LED lighting products, from concept through production, ensuring compliance with electrical, mechanical, and reliability requirements. Responsibilities include creating and reviewing schematics, defining board stack-ups, selecting components, and optimizing signal integrity for analog and RF circuits. The role involves collaborating closely with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to support prototyping, testing, design reviews, and design-for-manufacturability improvements. The engineer will also generate and maintain design documentation, including Gerber files, BOMs, and assembly drawings, and support troubleshooting of design issues during validation and production.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering with hands-on experience in Circuit Design and board-level design.
Practical skills in Analog circuit design, including power supplies, signal conditioning, and mixed-signal interfaces.
Proficiency in PCB Board Layout, including layer stack-up design, routing, grounding, and EMC/EMI best practices.
Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) design concepts, such as impedance control, transmission lines, and antenna or RF module integration.
Proficiency with PCB CAD tools (e.g., Altium Designer, OrCAD, KiCad, or similar) and familiarity with generating manufacturing outputs.
Ability to read and interpret datasheets, schematics, and mechanical drawings, and to work closely with cross-functional teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline; advanced degree or equivalent experience is a plus.
Experience in LED lighting, power electronics, or consumer electronics manufacturing environments is advantageous.
