Company Description Carrus Mobility Solutions is focused on decarbonizing cold chain logistics by manufacturing advanced, world-class refrigeration containers. Since 2020, the company has pioneered net zero solutions in India with zero-emission, zero-waste storage and transport reefers. Its products support sustainable and intelligent cold chain operations while helping customers reduce carbon emissions. By improving efficiency and reliability, Carrus Mobility Solutions aims to increase revenues and long-term value for stakeholders across the cold chain ecosystem.
Role Description This is a full-time, hybrid role for a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Design Engineer based in Kanpur, with flexibility for partial work from home. The PCB Design Engineer will design and develop analog, digital, and RF circuit boards for refrigeration and mobility control systems, working across single-layer, double-layer, and multilayer PCB projects from schematic creation through final board bring-up and production. Responsibilities include schematic design, component selection, BOM generation, PCB layout and routing, and collaboration with mechanical and embedded teams to ensure manufacturability and reliability. The role involves signal integrity and EMI/EMC checks, power integrity analysis, design reviews, and close coordination with fabrication and assembly vendors. The engineer will also support hardware validation, debugging, documentation, and continuous improvement of existing designs to enhance performance, safety, and energy efficiency.
You think in hardware first. You find firmware bugs faster by probing test points than by reading code. You have opinions about component footprints. You get uncomfortable when someone routes a high-current trace too thin.
You are comfortable owning a design end-to-end, raising flags early when something looks wrong, and shipping boards that work the first time — or failing fast and fixing quickly when they don't.
Qualifications
Strong hold in PCB design and circuit design, with hands-on experience taking projects from schematic through board-level bring-up across single-layer, double-layer, and multilayer boards
Proficiency in industry-standard EDA tools such as Altium Designer, KiCad, Cadence Allegro, or OrCAD
Expertise in component selection, BOM generation, PCB layout, routing, layer stack-up, grounding, signal integrity, and EMI/EMC considerations
Solid grounding in analog and digital circuit design, power electronics, power supplies, signal conditioning, and mixed-signal interfaces
Understanding of RF principles and RF-aware layout techniques
Experience with microcontrollers and communication protocols including UART, SPI, I²C, CAN, and Bluetooth
Proficiency in KiCad or Altium Designer you have taped out at least one real board
Working knowledge of DC-DC power conversion (buck, boost, SMPS topologies)
Hands-on debug experience: you know how to use a scope and a multimeter to find the problem
Familiarity with at least one microcontroller family (STM32, nRF52, ESP32, or equivalent) at the hardware interface level
Understanding of PCB stackup, impedance control basics, and thermal management
Familiarity with IPC standards for PCB design and assembly
MOSFETs, gate drivers, DC-DC converters, LDOs, connectors, passives with cost and sourcing tradeoffs in mind
Familiarity with DFM/DFA practices, PCB manufacturing processes, assembly constraints, and basic reliability standards
Ability to read datasheets, create schematics, and maintain design documentation
Strong analytical and debugging skills using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers
A portfolio of relevant projects demonstrating practical hands-on experience in designing, testing, and troubleshooting electronic hardware
Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field (Mtech/MS preferred)
Effective communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork in a hybrid environment
Experience in power electronics, automotive or industrial control systems, HVAC control or cold chain/refrigeration applications is a plus
Pay will be between 7LPA to 9LPA (depending on work experience and skills) with performance linked incentives
