Description
Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration offers an excellent opportunity for a Principal Engineer Systems Test – System Tester (26-236 & 26-237) to join our team of talented and diverse professionals. Located in Colorado Springs, CO this role is essential to supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at the strategic, regional, and operational levels.
This position does not provide relocation assistance and requires on-site work with no remote options.
Position Overview
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a key component of the Missile Defense System. It enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders to plan missile defense operations, monitor battles, and control sensors and weapon systems worldwide. C2BMC supports layered missile defense against threats across all ranges and flight phases. It enhances performance by networking and synchronizing sensors and weapon systems at global and regional levels. C2BMC is required for all ground and flight tests verifying missile defense capabilities
C2BMC Global urgently needs a Test Analyst to help organize and perform Flight and Ground Tests. GAITS CFPT seeks a highly motivated and skilled individual to join its team and assist in evaluating the success of these tests. The candidate should have experience with various event board approval structures, including MDIOC and BMDSS support processes, the MDA/BC approval chain, and National Team engineering boards (PERB, CEAT). They should also have experience operating the C2BMC, knowledge of system configuration, familiarity with system operations, ability to navigate display screens, and understanding of system concepts.
Essential Functions
Responsible for identifying required resources, understanding mission objectives for the systems under test, developing data archival and analysis plans, and creating post-mission reports
Responsible for configuration management and control of test resources, articles, and tools used for data collection during tests
Serve as the I&T liaison to other C2BMC test participants and MDA/BCT test managers
Develop and maintain the test architecture, including all articles under test, and create additional procedures as needed to ensure successful execution
Excellent communication skills (both written and oral), the ability to communicate effectively, and clearly present technical approaches and findings is required.
Basic Qualifications
Please list your current security clearance and IAT or relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable.
A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field from an accredited university, along with 5 years of experience; or a Master’s degree in a related field with 3 years of relevant work experience; or 9 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree
Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Top Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start with the ability to be cleared at SCI
Understand systems engineering, systems design and development
Possess over 2 years of experience in a related engineering environment, with strong expertise in systems-of-systems definition and integration
Ability to analyze high-level needs and, through a structured and logical approach, refine the need into an integrated set of requirements that lead to a deployed product
Ability to lead parts of the activity and supervise fellow engineers
Ability to write and implement engineering plans within a project
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with approval boards from other organizations sponsoring such tests (e.g., JIAMDO, AFSPC, JFCC-IMD, etc.) is highly desirable
Having prior experience working with JAT, MDDC, and other related organizations is preferable
Should also be familiar with the following:
Unix command line
Bash
Perl scripting
Linux
Statistics
Technical writing/test procedure creation
Space/C2BMC/Missile Defense experience
Agile development
Automated testing framework
Requirement and Verification Spreadsheet analysis
Experience with analysis tools:
Java software or Python scripting development
Performing post-processing and analyzing collected data both quantitatively and qualitatively
Creating action plans based on data analysis
Documenting software deficiency reports
Presenting analysis results and action plans orally and/or in written format (e.g., slides, annotated slides, test report document)
Experience in Ballistic Missile defense systems is highly desired

Primary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
