Role Description The Principal Analog IC Design Engineer will lead the design and development of advanced analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits for power management and related applications. This full-time, on-site role in Richardson, TX involves defining architectures, performing transistor-level design, running circuit simulations, and overseeing layout implementation and verification. The engineer will collaborate closely with systems, digital, layout, test, and product engineering teams to translate requirements into robust, manufacturable silicon. Daily responsibilities include schematic design, simulation, design reviews, lab bring-up, silicon characterization, and support for qualification and production ramp. The role also includes mentoring less-experienced engineers, contributing to design methodologies, and driving continuous improvement in performance, efficiency, and reliability.
Qualifications
Strong expertise in analog circuit design, including Analog Circuits and Analog Circuit Design, with a track record of successful tape-outs.
Proficiency in Circuit Design for integrated circuits, including transistor-level design, modeling, and simulation flows.
Deep knowledge of Power Management circuits (e.g., DC-DC converters, LDOs, references, biasing, protection circuits) and related system-level considerations.
Solid understanding of analog fundamentals (Analog), including noise, stability, feedback, matching, layout-dependent effects, and reliability.
Significant hands-on experience with industry-standard EDA tools (e.g., Cadence Virtuoso, SPICE simulators, verification and layout tools).
Demonstrated ability to characterize silicon in the lab, debug issues, and correlate measurements with simulations.
Effective cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to lead design reviews and technical discussions.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; advanced degree (MS or PhD) in EE with an analog IC focus preferred.
Prior experience in high-volume semiconductor product development and familiarity with foundry processes and design-for-manufacturability is highly beneficial.
