Principal Model Based Systems Engineer - CLEARANCE REQUIRED

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Principal Model Based Systems Engineer to support a company focused on developing next-generation, force‑multiplying aircraft within the defense and aerospace industry. This position is 100% on-site in St. Louis, MO. The Model Based Systems Engineer will oversee and lead systems engineering efforts using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to define, integrate, and deliver complex aerospace systems. Responsibilities for the Principal Model Based Systems Engineer include:

Supporting and leading system architecture development and decomposition using MBSE tools (SysML/Cameo) to define functions, interfaces, and allocations across multiple domains
Collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to develop system designs and support technical and program design reviews
Implementing MBSE within a broader digital engineering ecosystem across the program lifecycle
Performing systems engineering activities including requirements decomposition, trade studies, system analysis, interface management, and risk management
Supporting verification, validation, certification planning, and system integration while capturing artifacts within the MBSE model

Required Qualifications for the Principal Model Based Systems Engineer include:

15+ years of systems or related engineering experience
Experience with complex architecture of systems and MBSE tools and methodologies, including SysML and Cameo/MSOSA
Expereince defining enterprise level architecture and digitial engineering stategy, acting as Chief Architect for the strategic program direction
Master's Degree
Active Secret Clearance

Compensation for the Principal Model Based Systems Engineer include:

Salary Range: $185,000 – $215,000 depending on experience
