The Opportunit
yA growing medical device company is seeking a hands-on Principal FPGA Engineer to lead the development of FPGA-based firmware and embedded software for an innovative therapeutic platform
.This is an individual contributor role within a small, multidisciplinary product development team. The engineer will contribute throughout the full development lifecycle, including system architecture, requirements, design, implementation, testing, documentation, design verification, and production release

Key Responsibiliti
esLead the architecture, design, and development of FPGA firmware and embedded software for regulated medical devic
esDevelop and maintain code using VHDL, Verilog, and SystemVeril
ogTranslate user and system needs into technical requirements and design specificatio
nsImplement signal-processing algorithms, device drivers, hardware interfaces, and control functionali
tyDevelop prototypes and proof-of-concept systems using FPGAs and system-on-module platfor
msOptimize code and algorithms based on hardware, performance, and system constrain
tsCreate design documentation, test protocols, verification reports, release notes, and risk-management documentati
onPerform laboratory testing, system integration, debugging, verification, and validati
onSupport design controls and software development processes in accordance with applicable medical device standar

onsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related fi
eld4+ years of experience developing firmware or software for medical devices or other highly regulated produ
ctsStrong experience with FPGA architecture, development, testing, and implementat
