How You’ll Make An Impact
Technical Leadership
Lead the architecture, design, and development of power electronic converters and subsystems such as inverters, rectifiers, DC-DC converters, and grid-connected systems.
Define and review system-level and component-level design requirements for power electronics products.
Drive technical decisions related to topology selection, semiconductor devices, magnetics, thermal design, protection concepts, and control strategies.
Provide expert guidance in simulation, design optimization, and performance improvement of power converter systems.
Design & Development
Develop and validate power electronics designs using simulation and modeling tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, PSIM, or equivalent.
Support schematic design, component selection, PCB/interface definition, and hardware integration.
Lead control algorithm development for converter performance, efficiency, stability, and grid compliance.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams for system integration, firmware, mechanical, thermal, and testing activities.
Testing & Validation
Define test strategies and review verification and validation plans for power electronic products.
Support hardware bring-up, debugging, root cause analysis, and issue resolution during development and testing phases.
Guide HIL, lab, and full-system testing activities to ensure product performance, reliability, and compliance.
Analyze failures and field issues, and drive corrective and preventive actions.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Identify and drive innovation opportunities in converter technology, control methods, efficiency improvement, and cost optimization.
Contribute to technology roadmaps and next-generation product platforms.
Promote engineering best practices, design standardization, and reuse across projects.
Participate in technical reviews, patent disclosures, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Mentoring & Collaboration
Mentor and coach engineers within the power electronics team.
Support skill development and technical growth of team members.
Work with global engineering teams, product management, manufacturing, sourcing, and quality teams to ensure successful product delivery.
Act as a technical focal point for complex engineering discussions with internal and external stakeholders
Your background:
Master’s or PhD in Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
15+ years of relevant experience in power electronics design and development.
Strong expertise in power converter topologies, switching devices, modulation techniques, and digital control of converters.
Hands-on experience with simulation and modeling tools such as PSCAD, MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, PSIM, or equivalent.
Strong understanding of electrical system design, thermal behavior, EMI/EMC, protection schemes, and reliability aspects.
Understanding of control theory for Power Electronics applications
Experience with specification, selection and qualification of power devices, and passive components like DC capacitors and filter components
Experience with working with laboratory equipment and converter prototyping and testing
Good understanding of industry standards and compliance requirements applicable to power electronic products.
Proven ability to solve complex technical problems and drive solutions independently.
Strong communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in grid-connected converters, renewable energy systems, energy storage systems, drives, or industrial power conversion applications.
Familiarity with HIL systems, real-time simulation, and controller validation.
Experience working with embedded control systems, firmware teams, and system integration activities.
Exposure to product development in a global R&D environment.
Knowledge of safety, cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements for industrial products is an advantage.
Track record of innovation, patents, or technical publications is a plus.
