Job Description
Microchip is searching for a Principal Engineer - Design to be part of the Networking and Communications Group located in Hauppauge, NY. A candidate placed in this position will be a contributor in the Networking and Communication Group Design Team, focused on bringing advanced connectivity devices to market, including Ethernet switches & bridges, USB hubs & power delivery, PCIe bridges, serial interfaces (SerDes) and other connectivity interfaces.
Requirements/Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or equivalent Engineering with 10+ years of relevant industry experience
Experience in Ethernet, USB, and/or PCIe
Digital design projects using Verilog/System Verilog
Proficient in Verilog/System Verilog
Experience with the ASIC design and/or verification flow
Strong analytical, communication (written and verbal), and documentation skills
Excellent problem solving, debugging and organization skills
Must be highly motivated and able to work in collaborative group environment
Preferred Qualifications
Understanding of following protocols: USB (USB3.0, USB2.0), USB Power Delivery, PCIe, Ethernet (10/100/1G BASE-T and 1G-25G SerDes)
Peripherals Interfaces: SPI, I2C, UART etc.
Experience with simulation and simulation tools
Experience with Xilinx FPGA emulation and debug
Travel Time

We offer a total compensation package that ranks among the best in the industry. It consists of competitive base pay, restricted stock units, and quarterly bonus payments. The annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in the US, is $75,000-$232,000.*
Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
