We are seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to serve as a senior technical contributor within West Coast Solutions. In this role, you will lead the architecture, design, development, and troubleshooting of advanced aerospace electronic systems while helping guide technical decision-making across the organization. Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will solve complex technical challenges, support critical programs, and contribute throughout the product lifecycle from concept through production.
What You'll Do
Lead the architecture, design, and development of advanced electronic systems and subsystems
Design and develop analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronic hardware
Perform complex circuit analysis, simulation, and technical trade studies
Lead design reviews and critical engineering decisions
Support hardware integration, testing, troubleshooting, and root-cause investigations
Collaborate with systems, firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers across multiple programs
Mentor and support the technical development of engineering team members
Support customer engagements and technical discussions when required
Contribute to engineering standards, best practices, and future technology development
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline
15+ years of professional electrical engineering experience
Extensive experience designing complex analog, digital, mixed-signal, and/or power electronic systems
Proven experience developing hardware from requirements definition through qualification and production
Strong understanding of system-level electrical architecture and technical trade studies
Experience leading complex technical development efforts and architecture decisions
Experience with circuit analysis, simulation, debugging, and hardware troubleshooting
Experience with schematic capture, PCB development, and hardware integration
Demonstrated technical leadership and mentorship experience
Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with multidisciplinary teams and customers
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with aerospace, defense, spaceflight, or other high-reliability systems
Deep expertise in DC-DC converters, inverters, power conversion, motor control, or power distribution systems
Experience with FPGA-based or microcontroller-based control systems
Experience with cryogenic electronics, cryocooler control systems, or related technologies
Experience with sensor interfaces, imaging electronics, or signal processing systems
Experience owning products through the full lifecycle from requirements through qualification
Experience leading technical reviews, customer engagements, and complex root-cause investigations
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $180,000 - $275,000 dependent on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated capability.
Performance Bonus: Eligible employees participate in an annual bonus program based on individual contribution and company performance.
