We are seeking a direct hire Principal level Electrical Engineer to serve as a technical leader and system architect for complex product development initiatives within a highly regulated manufacturing environment. This individual will provide technical leadership across engineering teams, drive system-level design decisions, and contribute to the successful development and commercialization of innovative products. This individual will lead a team of 2 other electrical engineers and can work hybrid in Plymouth, Minnesota.

Key Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to electrical engineering team members while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Lead system architecture efforts, including evaluation of design concepts, trade-offs, and technical approaches for complex development programs.
Facilitate and lead design reviews to ensure alignment with performance, reliability, safety, quality, regulatory, and cost objectives.
Promote engineering best practices, design consistency, and technical excellence across projects and teams.
Drive product development activities throughout the entire lifecycle, from concept development through commercialization and sustaining engineering.
Lead the design and development of electrical hardware, embedded electronics, and integrated subsystems.
Identify technical risks early and implement mitigation strategies using structured engineering tools and methodologies.
Contribute technical expertise across multiple concurrent development programs of varying complexity.
Develop, review, and approve technical documentation including design requirements, verification and validation protocols, risk assessments, design of experiments (DOE), and engineering analyses.
Ensure compliance with applicable quality system requirements, design controls, and regulatory standards.
Support manufacturing readiness, design transfer activities, and post-launch product improvements.
Participate in annual planning activities, including project roadmaps, resource planning, and technical strategy development.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and organizational leadership to support innovation initiatives and long-term technology strategies.
Identify opportunities to improve product performance, manufacturability, scalability, and cost efficiency.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
7+ years of progressive engineering experience within a regulated industry environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated success leading complex product development efforts from concept through production.
Strong background in electrical hardware development, including microprocessor-based systems, circuit board design, signal processing, and system integration.
Experience working within regulated product development environments and quality management systems.
Proficiency with engineering simulation, modeling, and analysis tools.
Experience with design verification, validation, testing, and engineering analysis methodologies.
Knowledge of risk management techniques, including FMEA, Design of Experiments (DOE), and statistical analysis methods.
Excellent leadership, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Experience developing microprocessor-controlled products.
Experience supporting multiple development programs simultaneously.
Background in system architecture and platform-level product design.
Previous technical or people leadership experience.

Salary of $130,000 - $150,000 + bonus and benefits
