Principal Design Engineer

This is a senior individual contributor role at the intersection of design, engineering, and product strategy, focused on shaping the future of AI-powered enterprise experiences. You will help define how complex, data-rich workflows are translated into intuitive, scalable, and high-quality user experiences used by global organizations. Operating in an AI-native product environment, you will influence how intelligent systems are embedded into real decision-making workflows. The role blends deep technical execution with strategic design leadership, requiring both hands-on building and cross-functional influence. You will collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to ensure that user needs, business goals, and technical constraints are aligned. This is a highly impactful position where design quality directly shapes product differentiation and customer value at scale.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will lead the design and technical execution of high-impact product initiatives, translating complex AI-driven capabilities into production-ready experiences. You will define scalable interaction models, advance design systems, and ensure consistent, high-quality implementation across teams. Acting as a senior design authority, you will guide decisions that shape both product architecture and user experience.

Design and build high-fidelity, coded prototypes that bring AI-powered workflows to life
Own end-to-end delivery of high-impact product initiatives from concept to production
Lead technical design discussions and contribute to architectural and interaction decisions
Advance and scale design systems to ensure consistency and accelerate product development
Collaborate with product, engineering, and stakeholders to translate user needs into effective solutions
Advocate for design quality throughout the development lifecycle to ensure fidelity in execution
Mentor designers and engineers while elevating craft standards across the team
Act as a cross-functional connector aligning design, product, and engineering priorities

Requirements

You bring deep experience in product design and/or front-end engineering, with strong technical fluency and a track record of building production-level experiences. You are comfortable operating in complex, data-heavy environments and have experience shaping AI-driven or highly interactive products. You combine strong systems thinking with hands-on execution and strong collaboration skills.

12+ years of experience in product design, UX engineering, design systems, or related fields
Bachelor’s degree or higher in design, computer science, HCI, psychology, or related discipline
Strong front-end development skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, React or similar)
Experience building AI-powered or agentic product experiences
Familiarity with modern AI tools and technologies applied to design and development workflows
Proven experience shipping production-ready products and influencing technical decisions
Strong understanding of user-centered design and end-to-end product workflows
Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams
Leadership experience in mentoring, feedback, and cross-functional alignment
