Primary Structures Design Engineer

We are an innovative aerospace company developing next-generation vertical takeoff and landing aircraft that combine the flexibility of rotorcraft with the efficiency and performance of fixed-wing platforms. Our mission is to transform regional mobility through cutting-edge design, advanced engineering, and integrated system development.

The Role
We are seeking a Senior Structural Design Engineer to lead the development of airframe structures within a 3D CAD environment. In this role, you will drive structural design, integration, and optimization efforts while working closely with cross-functional teams across analysis, manufacturing, and systems engineering.
You will play a key role in ensuring structural integrity, system integration, and certification readiness, while contributing to both technical leadership and program execution.

What You’ll Do
Lead cross-functional engineering efforts to design, develop, and integrate airframe structures, ensuring alignment with program goals and certification requirements
Drive structural design activities including system packaging, trade studies, and weight optimization within a 3D CAD environment
Coordinate closely with analysis, manufacturing, tooling, and build teams to ensure design feasibility, performance, and producibility
Own and manage structural configurations, kinematics, and associated engineering artifacts, including design documentation and review materials
Conduct and support design reviews, providing technical leadership and ensuring design integrity throughout the development lifecycle
Collaborate with external suppliers to define requirements, manage deliverables, and ensure quality, cost, and schedule targets are met
Mentor team members and promote best practices in engineering design, integration, and development processes
Support certification efforts by contributing to required analyses, documentation, and compliance activities

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
15+ years of experience in structural or mechanical design within aerospace or complex systems
Extensive experience with 3D CAD tools (NX or equivalent high-end CAD systems)
Proven leadership experience within engineering teams or integrated product teams
Strong understanding of structural design, system integration, and weight optimization
Experience with lean engineering principles and model-based definition (MBD)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience supporting certification processes for aerospace systems is highly desirable

Note: eligible for US Citizen or Green card holder only
