About the Opportunity
We are assisting a fast-growing defense technology company with the appointment of a Power Electronics Engineer to join their engineering team in the San Francisco Bay Area.
The company is developing advanced power and energy systems for demanding defense applications and is looking for an engineer who can take ownership of power electronics hardware from initial architecture and design through prototyping, testing and production.

The Role
You will work across the design and development of power conversion, energy storage and electrical power systems.

Responsibilities will include:
Design and development of DC/DC and DC/AC power conversion systems
LV and HV electrical architecture
Inverter and power distribution design
Selection and implementation of GaN and SiC power devices
Circuit design, schematic capture and PCB development
Hardware bring-up, debugging and validation
EMI/EMC design and testing
Protection, isolation, sensing and safety architecture
Supporting products from prototype through qualification and production
Working closely with mechanical, firmware and systems engineering teams

Experience Required
We are interested in speaking with engineers with experience across several of the following:
Power electronics and power conversion
DC/DC, DC/AC and/or inverter design
High-voltage and low-voltage power systems
GaN and/or SiC technologies
Analog and mixed-signal circuit design
Altium or similar PCB design tools
EMI/EMC design principles
Hardware testing and troubleshooting
Design for manufacture and production

Experience within defense, aerospace, automotive, robotics, energy storage or other high-reliability hardware environments would be particularly relevant.

MIL-STD-461 or wider military/aerospace standards experience is advantageous but not essential.
