About the company
OrbitAID Aerospace is building the foundation for a new era of on-orbit servicing and refueling, enabling satellites to operate longer, maneuver more freely, and deliver greater value in space. At the core of this vision is the development of standardized docking and refueling technologies and a future network of orbital fuel stations, transforming how spacecraft are designed, launched, and sustained in orbit.

Our long-term goal is to make space operations more flexible, resilient, and sustainable—where satellites are serviced, upgraded, and refueled rather than replaced. We are a small, driven team that values strong engineering fundamentals, ownership, and hands-on problem solving. At OrbitAID, you’ll work closely across disciplines, move quickly from concept to hardware and software, and contribute directly to building the space infrastructure that will power the next generation of missions.
Role Overview
The Power Electronics Engineer is responsible for the design, integration, and customization of Satellite Electrical Power Systems (EPS). This role focuses on spacecraft solar arrays, battery systems, and power electronics to ensure reliable power generation, storage, and distribution throughout all mission phases.
Key Responsibilities
Design, analyze, and manage satellite EPS architectures, including generation, storage, and distribution
Design and integrate spacecraft solar panel systems, including array sizing, deployment considerations, and performance evaluation
Manage satellite battery systems, including capacity sizing, charge–discharge profiles, degradation, and lifecycle considerations
Support mission-specific customization of EPS and battery solutions based on power budgets and operational profiles
Perform testing, validation, and troubleshooting of satellite power electronics and energy storage systems
Provide technical support across design, integration, test, and mission readiness phases
Required Qualifications
Minimum experience of 2 years with satellite EPS, solar arrays, and battery-based storage systems
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field
Strong understanding of spacecraft power electronics, including DC–DC converters, regulators, and power management units
Solid knowledge of space-qualified battery technologies (Li-ion preferred), BMS, and power/energy budgeting
Preferred / Highly Desired Skills
Experience developing spacecraft power budgets and operational power modes
Familiarity with space environments (radiation, eclipse cycles, thermal coupling) and their impact on EPS design
Experience supporting environmental testing of EPS (thermal-vacuum, vibration)
Nice to Have
Experience with CubeSat or small satellite EPS
Familiarity with ECSS, NASA, or ISO spacecraft power standards
Experience supporting on-orbit operations or anomaly resolution
If you want to explore the future of on-orbit infrastructure, we would love to hear from you!
