📍 Location: Folsom, CA 95630
💼 Contract: 12 Months
💰 Pay Rate: $50–$75/hour
About the Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Post-Silicon Validation Engineer to join a highly technical processor validation team working on the validation, characterization and debug of new processor silicon and platform interface features.
This is a hands-on engineering opportunity for someone who enjoys working close to the silicon, developing validation strategies, executing electrical and functional tests, and troubleshooting complex processor/platform issues.
What You'll Be Doing
🔹 Develop comprehensive electrical and functional test plans for processor interface validation.
🔹 Execute processor validation using hardware and software validation tools, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and other lab equipment.
🔹 Perform detailed electrical characterization and functional validation of new processor silicon.
🔹 Debug electrical and functional issues involving processor and PC platform I/O interfaces.
🔹 Analyze test results, identify root causes and work with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve silicon/platform issues.
🔹 Provide technical input into platform definitions and design reviews supporting silicon validation.
🔹 Work closely with engineers across processor architecture, hardware, firmware, validation and other engineering disciplines.
🔹 Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to less-experienced engineers and technicians.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field with approximately 8–10 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 8+ years of directly related experience.
Strong experience in Post-Silicon / Silicon Validation.
Strong knowledge of x86, processor architecture and/or CPU core architecture.
Strong C programming experience.
Demonstrated experience developing and executing platform-level electrical and functional validation plans.
Experience debugging processor and PC platform I/O interfaces.
Experience with electrical characterization and hardware validation.
Hands-on experience using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
Ability to read and understand schematics and layout documentation.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical and root-cause-analysis skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Highly Relevant / Preferred Experience

⭐ RTL / Verilog / SystemVerilog
⭐ CPU microarchitecture / core architecture
