Job Summary"
We are seeking a motivated Platform Design Engineer with a strong understanding of CPU/APU architecture and SoC power and performance concepts to support feature development and validation activities. This role is highly hands-on, requiring work in a lab environment to bring up systems, refresh software images, configure BIOS/drivers, execute performance benchmarks, and support software feature development. The ideal candidate has a background in Computer Engineering, solid C/C++ programming skills, and an understanding of system architecture.
Key Responsibilities:
Support feature development for SoC Power and Performance technologies.
Work in a lab environment to bring up, configure, and maintain hardware platforms.
Refresh and install OS images, update BIOS, and install/debug device drivers.
Execute and analyze system performance and power benchmarks.
Perform hardware bring-up activities, including manually swapping SoCs, storage devices, and other system components in open-box platforms.
Develop and enhance software features integrated within system drivers.
Write, debug, and maintain software in C/C++.
Troubleshoot hardware and software integration issues.
Collaborate with cross-functional hardware, firmware, and software engineering teams to validate new features and improve system performance.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of experience, or Master's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Strong software development background with proficiency in C and C++.
Good understanding of CPU/APU architecture and overall computer system architecture.
Experience with SoC power and performance concepts.
Hands-on experience working in a hardware lab environment.
Familiarity with OS installation, BIOS configuration, and device driver management.
Experience troubleshooting hardware/software integration issues.
