Our client is seeking a Photonic IC Development Tech Lead to define the vision, platform, and execution model for next-generation silicon photonics products. This is a high-impact leadership role for an experienced industry expert who has taken photonic innovations from architecture through production and wants to shape a production-ready design organization and methodology.
Our client is a global semiconductor company developing advanced technologies for high-volume commercial applications. The business is investing in next-generation photonic integrated circuits and is building the platform, infrastructure, and leadership capability needed to establish long-term product leadership.
You will join a technically ambitious environment where cross-functional collaboration is central to success, working closely with design, process, packaging, test, manufacturing, and external ecosystem partners. The company is looking for a leader who can combine deep technical authority with the ability to build teams, drive execution, and influence roadmap decisions.
You will lead the end-to-end development of silicon photonics ICs while establishing the design platform, methodology, and organization required for scalable commercial success.
Define technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for silicon photonics chip design
Lead PIC development from requirements through tapeout, characterization, qualification, and production ramp
Build and scale the silicon photonics design organization across design, verification, test, and reliability
Develop and evolve in-house PDKs, design flows, toolchains, and release methodology
Drive manufacturability, testability, reliability, yield learning, and production readiness with foundries and operations
Mentor senior engineers and influence product and system decisions across cross-functional teams
What we are looking for:
PhD or MS in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Physics, Materials Science, or related field
15+ years of semiconductor and/or photonics industry experience with significant silicon photonics leadership
Track record of multiple commercial chip developments delivered from architecture through production release
Deep hands-on expertise in silicon photonics design, PDK development, design flows, verification, and tapeout methodology
Strong experience in design for test, reliability, characterization, yield analysis, and high-volume manufacturability
