Description

Spatial Front, Inc. (SFI), a two-time USA Today Top Workplaces awardee and Washington Top Workplaces honoree, is seeking a PeopleSoft HCM Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform hands-on functional, regression, integration, interface, and batch testing within a complex PeopleSoft HCM environment in a secure federal setting. This role focuses on test execution, automation development, defect analysis, and close collaboration with development and business teams to ensure high-quality system performance and reliable releases. The position requires experience with UFT (or similar automation tools), familiarity with PeopleSoft Test Framework (PTF), and exposure to Tricentis as a potential future toolset. As part of the SFI team, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving a mission-critical system supporting federal operations.

Location: On-site in Arlington, VA

Key Responsibilities

Execute functional, regression, integration, interface, and end-to-end testing for PeopleSoft HCM enhancements, defect fixes, patches, releases, and production support activities.
Develop, maintain, and execute detailed test cases, test scripts, and test data across business processes, interfaces, security, batch jobs, and reports.
Perform automated testing using UFT, including building and maintaining stable, reusable test assets for key business and technical workflows.
Develop and enhance automated test scripts using PeopleSoft Test Framework (PTF), including reusable tests, variables, and data-driven validation techniques.
Conduct regression testing across PeopleSoft HCM components, including pages, prompts, grids, Process Scheduler jobs, queries, interfaces, and end-to-end transactions.
Validate batch processing, inbound/outbound interfaces, file feeds, security updates, reports, and system integrations.
Review logs, system messages, interface results, and backend data to identify issues and support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
Document and track defects with clear reproduction steps, evidence, and impact analysis; retest fixes as needed.
Collaborate with developers, business analysts, functional teams, and environment support teams to validate requirements, troubleshoot issues, and ensure release quality.
Support test environment readiness, including account setup, connectivity checks, test data preparation, smoke testing, and deployment validation.
Contribute to test automation standards, reusable assets, regression test suites, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Participate in the evaluation of additional tools, such as Tricentis, for expanded automation and test management capabilities.
Maintain accurate test documentation, execution results, and traceability to support auditability and release reporting.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
3+ years of software QA/testing experience supporting enterprise applications, with strong hands-on execution of test cases and release validation.
Strong experience testing PeopleSoft HCM applications, including online processing, interfaces, batch jobs, reports, and end-to-end business workflows.
Hands-on experience with UFT is preferred; experience with PeopleSoft Test Framework (PTF) is a plus, and familiarity with Tricentis is also a plus.
Ability to design, create, and execute test scripts; analyze defects; validate system behavior; and compare expected vs. actual results using structured testing methods.
Experience reviewing logs, test evidence, interface outputs, and backend data; SQL or query-based validation experience is preferred.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must possess an active Secret clearance or be eligible to obtain one.

Desired Skills

Experience performing functional, regression, integration, and interface testing in PeopleSoft HCM within complex enterprise or federal environments.
Working knowledge of UFT automation concepts, including object repositories, reusable actions, parameterization, checkpoints, and test maintenance.
Experience building or maintaining PeopleSoft Test Framework (PTF) automated test assets and supporting the expansion of test automation coverage.
Familiarity with PeopleTools components such as Process Scheduler, Integration Broker, queries, reports, and security testing.
Experience with Tricentis tools (e.g., Tosca or qTest) for enterprise test automation or test management initiatives.
Experience validating PeopleSoft HCM updates, including patches, PUM images, tax updates, and regression impact analysis.
