Role: PCB Layout Engineer
Qualification: BE/B Tech in Electronics/Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering
Exp.: 6 to 8 years
Domain: Automotive
Location: Pune (On-Site)
We are looking for an experienced PCB Layout Engineer with strong expertise in automotive electronics product development. The ideal candidate should have end-to-end exposure to the PCB design lifecycle, hands-on experience with PCB layout tools, and a strong understanding of EMI/EMC guidelines, manufacturing, and assembly considerations for power electronics and RF designs.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop multilayer PCB layouts for automotive electronic products.
Handle complete PCB design lifecycle activities including component placement, routing, design verification, and release documentation.
Ensure PCB designs comply with EMI/EMC, DFM, DFA, and DFT requirements.
Work closely with hardware, mechanical, manufacturing, and testing teams during product development.
Perform layout reviews and support prototype bring-up and debugging activities.
Prepare and validate manufacturing outputs including Gerber files, fabrication drawings, and assembly documentation.
Coordinate with PCB fabrication and assembly vendors to resolve manufacturing-related issues.
Ensure compliance with IPC2221A standards and automotive design guidelines.
Support engineering change management and PLM-related activities.
Required Skills
6–8 years of experience in PCB Layout Design.
Minimum 2 years of experience in an automotive company.
Strong knowledge of PCB Design lifecycle processes.
Good understanding of:
EMI/EMC guidelines
DFM (Design for Manufacturing)
DFA (Design for Assembly)
DFT (Design for Testability)
Familiarity with IPC2221A standards.
Hands-on experience with:
Mentor Graphics Expedition PADS Pro VX2.13
PADS Layout
DX Designer
CAM350 or similar tools
Microsoft Office tools
PLM tools
Preferred Skills
Experience in PCB layout design for automotive electronics products.
Knowledge of PCB manufacturing and assembly challenges related to:
Power Electronics
RF Layout Design
Understanding of high-speed and mixed-signal PCB layout concepts is an added advantage.
Soft Skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong presentation and documentation abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
