We're Hiring: PCB Design Engineer

Full time | Core team

LAT Aerospace | Cross Program

LAT Aerospace is developing next-generation aerospace systems from first principles. This includes a hybrid electric aircraft that takes off and lands within a space of a parking lot, Defence systems built from ground up and scalable Gas Turbine Engines.

The PCB Design Engineer role is a cross-program role spanning sensing, control, communication, data acquisition, instrumentation, and experimental hardware. You will work closely with electrical, embedded, and mechanical engineers to take boards from architecture and schematic through layout, testing, and iteration.

What You’ll Do

Design digital, analog, and mixed-signal PCBs for sensing, control, communication, data acquisition, and instrumentation systems.
Own the hardware lifecycle from architecture, schematic, component selection, and PCB layout through fabrication, bring-up, and validation.
Design multilayer boards with attention to signal integrity, power integrity, grounding, thermal management, and EMI/EMC.
Develop interfaces for sensors, actuators, processors, communication buses, and external systems.
Work with embedded engineers to define hardware–firmware interfaces.
Perform circuit analysis, component derating, simulation, and design reviews.
Lead board bring-up, debugging, characterization, and failure analysis.
Develop test fixtures and supporting electronics for rapid hardware development.
Work with PCB fabrication and assembly partners to take designs from prototype to repeatable production.
Maintain schematics, layouts, BOMs, and engineering documentation.

What We’re Looking For

3+ years of professional experience in PCB design and hardware development.
Strong fundamentals in analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design.
Proficiency with Altium, KiCad, or equivalent PCB design tools.
Experience with multilayer PCB design, signal/power integrity, grounding, and EMI/EMC.
Hands-on experience with component selection, schematic capture, PCB layout, and hardware bring-up.
Comfortable debugging hardware using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG/programmers, power supplies, and other lab equipment.
Strong understanding of common communication interfaces such as CAN, SPI, I²C, UART, RS-485, Ethernet, or equivalent.
Comfortable working directly with prototypes, soldering, test benches, and rapid hardware iterations.
Experience designing electronics for aerospace, automotive, robotics, industrial, or other high-performance systems is preferred.

Why join LAT?

No hierarchy beyond strength of ideas.
Rapid hardware iteration culture.
Build systems that have to work reliably in the real world.
