Job Title: Paint Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Paint Engineer to develop, implement, and optimize painting processes for high-quality surface finishes. This role is responsible for ensuring coating performance, improving efficiency, maintaining compliance with safety and environmental standards, and supporting production teams with technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and optimize paint and coating processes for manufacturing or production environments
Select appropriate paint materials, coatings, and application methods based on product requirements
Monitor and improve paint application quality, including adhesion, thickness, durability, and finish consistency
Troubleshoot coating defects and implement corrective actions
Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to improve efficiency and reduce waste
Conduct testing and analysis of coatings, including corrosion resistance and environmental durability
Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations (e.g., VOC standards)
Maintain documentation for processes, specifications, and quality standards
Support continuous improvement initiatives and cost-reduction efforts
Work with suppliers to evaluate new materials and technologies
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
Experience with industrial painting/coating systems (e.g., spray, powder coating, electrocoating)
Knowledge of surface preparation techniques and coating chemistry
Familiarity with quality control methods and inspection tools
Understanding of environmental and safety regulations related to coatings
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to work cross-functionally in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in automotive, aerospace, or heavy manufacturing industries
Knowledge of robotic paint systems or automated application technologies
Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing experience
Certification in coatings or corrosion engineering (e.g., NACE)
Work Environment:
Manufacturing or production facility setting
May require time on the shop floor and use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Occasional exposure to chemicals, fumes, and varying temperatures
