Location: Los Angeles, CA
An innovative technology company developing next-generation optical communication solutions for high-performance computing and AI infrastructure is seeking a Senior Optical Systems Test Engineer. This organization is focused on advancing photonic integration and high-speed link architectures to overcome limitations in current data centre technologies.
The role involves developing and refining validation approaches for advanced communication interfaces, ensuring reliable system performance across both electrical and optical domains.
Responsibilities:
Lead testing of high-speed electrical and optical communication systems.
Define and implement test strategies for high-bandwidth link validation.
Develop and execute validation plans, including system-level performance testing.
Analyse signal integrity and optical performance metrics to ensure design compliance.
Build and maintain automated test frameworks and scalable test setups.
Troubleshoot and resolve link performance and system-level issues.
Collaborate cross-functionally and provide technical leadership and mentoring.
Qualifications:
Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, Physics, or related field.
Strong experience in high-speed electrical and optical link testing.
Expertise in signal integrity and optical communication fundamentals.
Proficiency with lab instrumentation and test automation (Python preferred).
