Eaton’s Critical Power Solutions division is seeking an Operational Excellence Engineer to join our team. This position is based in Raleigh, NC.

The OpEx Engineer supports the deployment, maturity and sustainment of Eaton’s Continuous Improvement System (ECIS) across the CPS division. This role focuses on analyzing processes, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and enabling data driven decision making to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth readiness.

This role focuses on analyzing cross‑site performance, identifying division‑level improvement opportunities, enabling sharing of best practices, and strengthening CI capability across multiple manufacturing locations. The OPEX Senior Analyst works closely with site leadership, OPEX managers, functional teams, and divisional leaders to apply CI tools, drive standardization, and ensure consistent execution of OPEX fundamentals.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $86,000 - $126,000 a year.

What You’ll Do

The OpEx Engineer supports the deployment, maturity and sustainment of Eaton’s Continuous Improvement System (ECIS) across the CPS division. This role focuses on analyzing processes, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and enabling data driven decision making to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth readiness.

The OPEX Senior Analyst works closely with site leadership, OPEX managers, functional teams, and divisional leaders to apply CI tools, drive standardization, and ensure consistent execution of OPEX fundamentals.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
At least one (1) year of experience working with Power BI in a professional setting (basic proficiency required)
Minimum of one year of experience in continuous improvement initiatives
Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in or supporting manufacturing and operations environments
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future


Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
Production data analyst experience
Strong Excel skills including pivot tables, macros, charts, and graphs
Experience utilizing SAP
Ability to develop interactive dashboards using PowerBI
Knowledge of manufacturing processes including assembly (manual and automated).
Experience with ETO (engineered to order) products
Knowledge in core concepts of Value Stream, Demand Flow Methodologies, 5S, Standard Work, Kaizen Techniques, Shop Floor Visual management
Demonstrated history of successfully leading and facilitating changes that involve all levels of employees with measurable results.
Excellent Leadership qualities, ability to communicate to all levels of the organization; manage, consult, gain buy-in, and make key decisions
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt


Skills

Support effective division‑wide deployment and sustainment of ECIS and CPS Operational Excellence standards.
Train and mentor teams across the division in ECIS tools and structured problem‑solving to ensure consistent CI execution.
Provide guidance and expertise on CI methodologies such as Value Stream Mapping, Continuous Flow, Standardization/5S+, Error Proofing, Waste Elimination, TPM, and Pull Systems, enabling consistent adoption across sites.
Drive the identification, alignment, and sharing of division‑level best practices, and support broader CI initiatives such as BPI and IDB through standardization and capability building.
Support annual ECIS OpA assessments by reviewing cross‑site results, identifying systemic gaps, and helping develop division‑level action plans.
Assist with corporate initiatives, participating on teams to drive best practices across Eaton and the division
Partner with sites to support cost‑out and operational improvement goals by providing analytics, CI methodology guidance, and strategic prioritization.
Assist site teams in understanding and applying standard OPEX processes, tools, and expectations.
Lead site level improvement activities such as RIEs, BPIs and A3s when support is needed
Analyze cross‑site and end‑to‑end processes to identify improvement opportunities aligned with divisional priorities.
Develop and maintain process maps and value stream documentation reflecting current‑ and future‑state conditions across multiple locations.
Monitor the execution of improvement actions across sites, tracking progress and identifying divisional gaps.
Apply A3, Fishbone, and 5 Why methodologies to support systemic root cause analysis and countermeasure development.
Support CI governance structures (e.g., CI councils and tiered accountability processes) by regularly participating and contributing actionable feedback as well as helping to standardize these processes to CPS expectations
Reinforce standard work, discipline, and consistency in CI execution across all sites within the division.
Collect, analyze, and validate operational and CI‑related data across the division to support performance visibility.
Develop and maintain standard reports, dashboards, or visual management tools as needed within PowerBI for the division
Support safety, quality, and compliance initiatives by analyzing divisional trends and applying CI methodologies.
Continue to build CI and analytical skills to support evolving divisional strategy needs.
Partner effectively with operations, engineering, quality, supply chain, and leadership teams across the division.
Communicate clearly and professionally with stakeholders at multiple levels and locations.
Engage in targeted on‑site activities when needed to support CI alignment, validate processes, or coach teams on critical improvement efforts.
