Overview:
The Operating Engineer supports a large, HVAC‑intensive facility, performing preventative maintenance across hotel rooms, conference areas, and public spaces. Working under a Chief Engineer, this role operates independently, executing HVAC PMs, safety procedures, and documented maintenance standards within a CMMS.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform HVAC preventative maintenance on cooling towers, AHUs, and RTUs
Operate and maintain HVAC systems to ensure performance and reliability
Execute LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) and site safety procedures
Document maintenance activities and develop procedures within a CMMS
Troubleshoot equipment issues and complete corrective maintenance
Support overtime based on facility and client needs
Required Skills:
2+ years of HVAC engineering experience in a commercial or industrial setting
Hands‑on experience with HVAC PMs (cooling towers, AHUs, RTUs)
EPA Certification (flexible for highly qualified candidates)
Ability to work independently within a CMMS
Strong knowledge of safety, compliance, and documented maintenance
Plusses:
Experience in hotel, conference center, or mixed‑use facilities
ATS or UPS maintenance experience
