Job Overview
Supports quality assurance activities within manufacturing, focusing on real-time defect prevention and problem resolution.
Responsibilities
Measurement & Inspection Activities
Perform dimensional inspection of components, assemblies, and prototypes using appropriate measuring equipment.
Conduct layout inspections and product validation measurements as per customer requirements.
Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T requirements, and customer standards.
Prepare dimensional reports and measurement analysis reports.
Support product qualification and PPAP submissions.
CMM & Advanced Measurement Systems
Operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
Develop and optimize measurement programs.
Validate CMM inspection methods.
Utilize advanced measurement technologies such as:
Vision Measurement Systems
Optical Comparators
Metrology Laboratory Management
Ensure smooth operation of the Metrology Laboratory.
Maintain environmental conditions required for accurate measurements.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and maintenance of measuring instruments.
Establish and maintain laboratory procedures and work instructions
Education and Knowledge
BE/ B. Tech (Mechanical)
Mechanical Diploma
Critical Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Production, Automobile.
3–4 years of experience in Metrology Laboratory, Quality Measurement, or Dimensional Inspection in the Automotive Industry.
Strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T and tolerance analysis.
Hands-on experience with CMM programming
Knowledge of measurement equipment: CMM, VMM, etc.
Experience in automotive/precision manufacturing is an advantage.
Exposure to MSA, PPAP, APQP, and IATF 16949 requirements.
