Role Description:
The Motorsport Mechanical Engineer will support the development of chassis and body
systems within a Motorsport Engineering team for a leading automotive OEM. The role focuses on design, development, and performance improvement of vehicle mechanical components, contributing to high-performance racing applications. This is a development-oriented role, requiring hands-on engineering contribution to product evolution (not validation/testing-focused activities).
Key Responsibilities
1. Component Development & Design
a. Support design and development of chassis and/or body components (suspension
, structures, mounts)
b. Contribute to component evolution based on performance targets
c. Support engineering changes and design improvements
d. Collaborate with internal teams to refine mechanical solutions
2. Vehicle Integration & Performance Support
a. Contribute to integration of components at vehicle level
b. Support achievement of performance targets (handling, durability, dynamics)
c. Work with cross-functional teams (vehicle dynamics, powertrain, aero)
d. Support prototype builds and development loops
3. Data Analysis & Engineering Improvements
a. Analyze data from testing and track activities
b. Support root cause analysis for performance issues
c. Translate data into engineering actions and design updates
d. Contribute to continuous product improvement
Technical Scope
The role provides exposure to:
- Chassis systems (suspension, steering, subframes)
- Body structures and mechanical components
- Vehicle dynamics and performance engineering
- Component design and integration
- Motorsport / high-performance vehicle applications
Required Skills & Background
Education Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or similar
Technical Skills (Mid-Level Preferred)
- Experience in chassis and/or body component development
- Knowledge of mechanical systems (suspension, structures, materials)
- Experience with CAD tools (CATIA, NX or similar)
- Understanding of vehicle-level behavior and system interactions
- Exposure to component design, release, and engineering changes
Experience
Level- 3–6 years of experience (mid-level preferred)
