Model Based Systems Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Model Based Systems Engineer to support a company focused on developing next-generation, force‑multiplying aircraft within the defense and aerospace industry. This position is 100% on-site in St. Louis, MO. The Model Based Systems Engineer will support and lead systems engineering efforts using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to define, integrate, and deliver complex aerospace systems. Responsibilities for the Model Based Systems Engineer include:

Supporting and leading system architecture development and decomposition using MBSE tools (SysML/Cameo) to define functions, interfaces, and allocations across multiple domains
Collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to develop system designs and support technical and program design reviews
Implementing MBSE within a broader digital engineering ecosystem across the program lifecycle
Performing systems engineering activities including requirements decomposition, trade studies, system analysis, interface management, and risk management
Supporting verification, validation, certification planning, and system integration while capturing artifacts within the MBSE model

Required Qualifications for the Model Based Systems Engineer include:

0–5 years of systems or related engineering experience
Experience with MBSE tools and methodologies, including SysML and Cameo/MSOSA
Background in systems engineering disciplines such as requirements development, functional decomposition, system design, analysis, verification, and validation
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited program in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related STEM field
Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required; clearance sponsorship available)

Compensation for the Model Based Systems Engineer include:

Salary Range: $80,000 – $140,000 depending on experience
