About the Role
Our client, a global leader in high-frequency RF and millimeter-wave semiconductor technology, is seeking a MMIC Design Engineer to support advanced chip design using compound semiconductor technologies.
Founded by industry pioneers with decades of compound semiconductor expertise, the company is known for delivering some of the highest-linearity mmWave products available today — partnering with the world's top semiconductor foundries to do it. This is not a conventional IC design role. You will work on complex, high-performance MMIC products deployed across the most demanding applications in the industry. The team is lean, moves fast, and expects every engineer to own their work from concept through bench validation.
This role focuses on designing and delivering MMIC solutions for mission-critical systems across:
Satellites
Aerospace and defense systems
Radar and drone detection
Hypersonic technologies
Wireless infrastructure
Data centers
Instrumentation
You will work hands-on across design, testing, and debugging, contributing directly to real hardware in a fast-moving environment.

What You'll Do
Design and develop high-performance MMICs using compound semiconductor processes
Own designs end-to-end — from architecture and simulation through layout, tape-out, and characterization
Perform hands-on bench testing, debugging, and validation of your own designs
Collaborate directly with hardware, test, and leadership teams in a flat, fast-moving environment
Tackle novel technical challenges independently — reasoning from fundamentals and deriving solutions without a prescribed playbook

Why This Role Stands Out
Work on genuinely cutting-edge advanced RF systems used in real-world applications
High ownership — engineers build, test, and debug their own work
Strong emphasis on hands-on execution and initiative
Opportunity to grow across levels in a focused technical domain
Direct visibility with company leadership, including the CEO, from day one
Rare opportunity to grow within a selective, high-impact organization
Competitive compensation across a wide band, with real upside for senior and fellow-level engineers

What We're Looking For
Strong MMIC design experience in high-frequency RF / mmWave domain— for junior roles, relevant graduate research and lab experience will be considered
Experience working with compound semiconductor technologies
Deep understanding of RF circuit design and chip architecture
Hands-on experience with testing, debugging, and measurement
Startup or small-team mindset — Hands-on experience with testing, debugging, and measurement
Self-directed, curious, and comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
