Job Overview
One of the global corporations from Asia is building their team for US Operations. They are specialized in the Semiconductor industry. We are looking for a dedicated Application Engineer to join our team. You will be the only employee in Boise, ID to start up their project with Micron Technology. You will be supported by their Texas Team and Japan Team, but we are looking for someone who can work independently with minimum supervision. This position is not Entry Level, we need someone who already has insight of the Semiconductor industry and application engineering experience.

This role serves as a technical bridge for our advanced SEM metrology systems, working directly with major semiconductor manufacturers. You will not only support existing installations but also demonstrate our latest technologies to solve the customer's most critical R&D and production challenges.

Key Responsibilities for Mid Level Application Engineer (SEM Metrology System):
Collaborate with customers to identify process control challenges and propose technical solutions using our SEM metrology tools.
Demonstrate the capabilities of the latest tool functions and optimize measurement recipes for various semiconductor processes (R&D to HVM).
Analyze large datasets to verify tool performance and process stability, reporting findings to customers and internal teams.
Conduct regular progress review meetings with customers and report field technical status to Headquarters. Prepare and deliver professional presentations to summarize evaluation results and project milestones.
Conduct technical training for customers on tool operation, recipe creation, and data interpretation.
Primary focus on software/application troubleshooting. (Ability to assist with hardware diagnosis is a plus).
Other duties are assigned by managers.

Qualifications for Mid Level Application Engineer (SEM Metrology System):
[Must Have]
Previous experience in semiconductor front-end equipment or manufacturing processes.
Valid work authorization in the United States.

[Preferred]
Strong understanding of semiconductor device fabrication, metrology concepts, and image processing.
Meticulous attention to detail and a cautious approach to operating equipment and handling data.
Experience with data analytics tools such as Excel, Spotfire, JMP, or R for handling high-volume metrology data.
Experience handling design layout data formats such as GDS or OASIS.
Basic scripting capability (e.g., Python, macro scripts) to automate data handling or recipe generation.
Basic understanding of SEM hardware or vacuum systems.
Familiarity with Japanese business culture or experience working with international teams.

Travel
Occasional travel between Boise and Phoenix may be required (low frequency).
Periodic travel to Japan Headquarters for advanced training (approx. once every 2-3 years).
