Job Description
We are seeking a hands‑on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Technical Architect with strong experience delivering Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain solutions and Azure‑based integrations. This role is responsible for end‑to‑end technical architecture and owns solution quality, scalability, and long‑term operability across the full application lifecycle.
The ideal candidate is a practitioner‑architect who combines deep technical expertise with strong business understanding and takes accountability beyond go‑live success.
Key Responsibilities
Own end‑to‑end delivery of Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain solutions, including architecture, design, implementation, deployment, and adoption.
Serve as the technical authority for Dynamics 365 implementations, accountable for solution success even when configuration or development is performed by other team members.
Define and govern customization and extension strategies, ensuring alignment with Microsoft best practices and One Version update requirements.
Architect, explain, and troubleshoot integrations between Dynamics 365 and external systems using Azure integration services.
Establish and enforce Azure, ALM, and DevOps practices, including environment strategy, CI/CD pipelines, release governance, and safe promotion of code to production.
Translate business and functional requirements into scalable, supportable technical designs.
Ensure solutions are designed for testing, monitoring, operability, and long‑term maintainability, not just initial delivery.
Required Skills & Experience
Dynamics 365 Platform Experience
Hands‑on experience with Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations / Finance & Supply Chain workloads.
Proven ownership of design, implementation, deployment, and adoption of Dynamics 365 solutions.
Experience delivering multiple full‑cycle Dynamics implementations.
Customization & Development Knowledge
Ability to review, prototype, and assess custom code.
Hands‑on knowledge of:
X++ (especially for Finance & Operations)
.NET / C#
JavaScript, plugins, and workflows
Strong understanding of extension models and customization limits to avoid breaking Microsoft One Version updates.
Demonstrated judgment distinguishing appropriate vs risky customization.
Integration Architecture
Experience designing, defending, and troubleshooting enterprise integration patterns.
Hands‑on experience with:
REST / SOAP APIs
Azure Logic Apps
Azure Service Bus
Azure Functions
Dataverse / Dual‑write scenarios
Experience with data migration and cross‑environment data flow strategies.
Peripheral understanding of operational applications in SaaS platforms like ServiceNow and/or SFS
Azure, ALM & DevOps
Practical, hands‑on experience with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and cloud governance.
Experience defining environmental strategies (DEV / TEST / UAT / PROD).
Hands‑on experience with:
Azure DevOps
CI/CD pipelines
Source control strategies
Experience using Dynamics Lifecycle Services (LCS) for monitoring, release governance, and production support.
Understanding of rollback strategies and deployment cadence (MB‑700 level knowledge).
Business Process Knowledge
Strong understanding of business processes, including:
Finance (GL, AP/AR, period close, compliance)
Supply Chain and warehouse operations
Customer engagement workflows (Sales, Customer Service, Field Service)
Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical designs, balancing configuration and customization.
Testing & Production Ownership
Knowledge of testing strategies, including edge cases and integration testing.
Experience designing for monitoring, alerting, and failure visibility.
Ownership mindset for long‑term stability, operability, and maintainability beyond go‑live.
Success Profile
The successful candidate is a hands‑on technical architect who takes ownership of production outcomes, makes sound architectural decisions, and designs solutions for long‑term success—not just initial delivery.
You will be successful in this role if you have:
BA/BS degree and 8+ years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft MB‑700: Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations Solution Architect certification.
