Communicates Effectively: Develops and delivers multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences. For example, pays attention to others’ insights, advice or instruction, grasping the main elements. Promptly shares relevant information with the right amount of detail.

Nimble Learning: Learns through experimentation when tackling new problems, using both successes and failures as learning fodder. For example, experiments to find the best possible solution and gains insight from test cases. Makes use of new concepts and principles when addressing problems. Learns from mistakes to avoid repeating them.

Situational Adaptability: Adapts approach and demeanor in real time to match the shifting demands of different situations. For example, sees even subtle cues to adapt; deploys a wide range of behaviors to stay effective. Exemplifies flexibility and resourcefulness; responds deftly to a variety of challenges and situations.

Essential Responsibilities:

Scanning:

Scanning entails taking the physical part and making a digital version of it. By using our spray booth, they’ll be responsible for applying paint and targets (dots) and then scanning the part to create a complete mesh.

Inspection:

Inspection is when dimensional information is extracted from the mesh and compared back to a CAD model. This information is provided to engineering to assist in tool revisions.

Automation & Scripting:

Python is the language that ATOS is based on. We utilize scripting to automate routines and simplify workflows. Being familiar or fluent with this language is desired.

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree or relevant field experience

Computer knowledge (Python / CAD)

Knowledge of plastic materials and processing preferred

CMM Experience is a plus

Non-Essential Responsibilities:

Charting and tracking layouts in excel

6S of general office environment

Use of pin gauges and calipers to obtain measurements

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Ability to understand and use the ATOS Scanner Hardware & Software

Previous use, knowledge and experience with CAD software

Demonstrate effective organization and time management skills

Python Programming Language

Principles

Advanced 3D Geometry Comprehension

Having the ability to think in 3 dimensions effortlessly. All of the work we do is done 3 dimensionally. Look at a part and quickly be able to identify a specific feature in the 3d space.

Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (ISO + ASME)

These are standards used for inspecting & measuring parts. These principles are common in many different industries and use a series of many print symbols to delineate different checks.

Understanding of Statistical Process Control

A statistical method to monitor and control a process. Typically called SPC points. Understanding their importance and value.

True Position & Deviation

True position is finding the actual position of an element and comparing it back to its nominal location. Deviation is the quantified difference between the nominal and actual position.

Line & Surface Profile Calculation

Profiles are used to determine whether or not a surface or specific line of a surface has been made following the intended geometry.

Least Material Condition | Max Material Condition (LMC | MMC)

These are used to determine whether a specific part in an assembly will fit in another specific part. It can also be used to determine any “extra” room that two interacting features may have.
