Mechanisms Engineer - Texas

We are seeking an Engineer (Mechanisms) to support the development, assembly, integration, and testing (AI&T) of advanced space-flight mechanisms. This role will focus on deployment hardware for orbital platforms and involve contributions to both new development and sustaining engineering activities. The engineer will also play a key role in preparing systems for spacecraft integration and testing.
The successful candidate will demonstrate innovation, creativity, and a willingness to challenge established approaches. They must be able to thrive in team environments while also being comfortable handling assignments independently.

Responsibilities
Participate in iterative mechanism design improvements based on findings from testing and production.
Perform and lead tests, including defining requirements, developing materials, processes, and tooling (vibration, shock, TVAC, assembly).
Contribute to design, analysis, and trade studies to optimize mechanism AI&T at both system and spacecraft levels—focusing on workflow simplicity, integration efficiency, and production speed.
Provide feedback to design teams to enhance manufacturing flow, cost efficiency, and layout, leveraging knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
Generate product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data, including feedback from operators and technicians.
Apply sound engineering principles in executing design and analysis, adhering to organizational standards, practices, procedures, and program requirements.
Troubleshoot and investigate anomalies, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
Provide manufacturing engineering support to production teams.

Qualifications
Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred: 2+ years of experience as a manufacturing engineer in aerospace or a related high-precision engineering field.
Knowledge and experience with mechanism development and testing for high-reliability hardware.
Proven ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.
Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Strong English written and verbal communication skills.
Must hold valid work authorization (citizenship or permanent residency).
