Key Responsibilities
What you will do:
Develop and execute detailed mechanical validation test plans for wearables, covering different areas of lifecycle testing.
Define validation scope, objectives, and deliverables for each product phase (from prototype to production).
Set up and maintain test fixtures, equipment, and prototype devices for validation activities.
Work with design, hardware, and manufacturing teams to align on validation requirements and schedules.
Participate in design reviews, provide feedback on mechanical robustness, and suggest design improvements based on test results.
Collect, analyze, and interpret test data to identify failure modes and root causes.
Document and communicate test results, issues, and recommendations to stakeholders.
Maintain comprehensive validation documentation and dashboards (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
Drive resolution of mechanical issues by collaborating with engineering teams during validation phases.
Proactively unblock teams and adjust focus areas to ensure timely issue closure.
Contribute to process improvements in validation methodologies, test automation, and lab infrastructure.
Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in mechanical validation for wearables.
Work Experience
What You Will Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
3+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical validation or testing, preferably in consumer electronics or wearables.
Strong knowledge of mechanical test methods (drop, shock, vibration, thermal, humidity, IP, etc.).
Experience with test equipment, data acquisition systems, and failure analysis.
Familiarity with product development cycles (proto to PVT) and cross-functional project execution.
Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience with risk management and process improvement.
Pay Range: $110,000-$120,000
Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.
Work Requirements
This role is considered an on-site position located in Sunnyvale, CA
You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.
