Mechanical Project Engineer – Cincinnati, OH
A fast-growing automated equipment and coating systems manufacturer is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to support custom finishing system projects.
Responsibilities
• Manage projects from order intake through installation and acceptance
• Serve as the primary liaison between customers, engineering, purchasing, and field service teams
• Plan and track schedules, budgets, milestones, and documentation
• Coordinate sub-suppliers (ovens, washers, conveyors, fans, auxiliary equipment)
• Support onsite and remote installation activities
• Review and approve mechanical drawings and vendor documentation
• Assist with design of brackets, fixtures, safety fences, and robot stands
• Lead project review meetings and coordinate resources
• Maintain clear communication with customers
• Identify process improvements and cost-saving opportunities
• Create system manuals and technical documentation
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (or related technical field)
• 3–7 years’ experience in technical project management or mechanical engineering
• Strong understanding of mechanical/automation systems
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
• Experience with purchasing and vendor management
• Proficiency with MS Office and SolidWorks
• Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills
• Limited domestic and international travel required
• German language skills a plus
