Mechanical Integration Engineer (Full-Time, On-site)
We’re working with a cutting-edge engineering company developing advanced autonomous systems for maritime applications. Their focus is on building highly integrated, intelligent platforms capable of operating in demanding real-world environments.
About the role
This opportunity sits within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team and centres on integrating complex subsystems into larger mechanical assemblies. You’ll operate at the intersection of mechanical, electrical, optical, and sensing technologies, ensuring all components come together into a cohesive, reliable, and production ready system.
From packaging sensitive electronics to designing mounting structures and access features, you’ll play a key role in bridging the gap between individual components and full system performance.
Key responsibilities:
Design and integrate mechanical solutions for electronics enclosures, sensor mounts, optical systems, payloads, and cabling infrastructure
Take ownership of subsystem interfaces and how components are installed within the overall assembly
Develop layouts for structural elements such as brackets, bulkheads, hatches, and access panels with a focus on usability and manufacturability
Collaborate closely with electrical teams to support cable routing and harness integration
Contribute to system-level design reviews and cross-functional engineering efforts
Produce detailed engineering documentation, including drawings, tolerances, and assembly instructions
Conduct tolerance analysis and support environmental and vibration testing
Troubleshoot and resolve integration challenges during design, build, and test phases
Provide hands-on support during prototype builds and system integration activities
What we’re looking for:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline
Minimum of 2 years’ experience integrating mechanical and electrical systems
Strong experience in system-level design and packaging of electronics, sensors, or similar components
Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (e.g. SolidWorks, NX, or equivalent)
Understanding of thermal and electromagnetic considerations in mechanical design
Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering disciplines
Experience working in fast-paced development or prototype environments is beneficial
Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance analysis is advantageous
What’s on offer
Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage
Competitive salary with performance-related incentives
Generous holiday allowance and paid parental leave
Retirement savings plan
Equity participation opportunities
Life and disability insurance
Additional office perks, including meals and refreshments
