Mechanical Engineer Position at Kollabra Consulting Inc.

Kollabra Consulting Inc., a small but dynamic company with approximately 7 employees specializing in mechanical engineering, product design, and automation solutions, is seeking a skilled and innovative Mechanical Engineer. This flexible position (part-time or contract) offers the ability to work independently from home or hybrid, with hours tailored to project needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and precision mechanisms using SolidWorks, including detailed 3D modeling, drawings, and GD&T.
Select and apply appropriate materials, fasteners, and manufacturing processes for robust, cost-effective designs.
Support product development projects involving automation, custom machinery, and precision engineering.
Perform design reviews, tolerance analysis, and collaborate with cross-functional teams on prototyping and testing.
Assist with project documentation, vendor coordination, and iterative improvements based on testing and feedback.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (preferred).
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in mechanical design and engineering.
Proficiency in SolidWorks is required, with strong skills in 3D modeling, assemblies, and detailed drawings.
Practical knowledge of mechanisms, materials selection, and fasteners.
Experience with semiconductor equipment, precision mechanisms, or automation systems is a strong plus.
Ability to work independently with excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Proactive mindset and comfort wearing multiple hats in a small-team environment.
