Senior Mechanical Engineer – MGSE | Satellite Systems | Texas
We’re supporting a pioneering space company building a next-generation satellite network designed to connect standard mobile devices directly from orbit. As they scale, they’re looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to play a key role in designing and delivering Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) for spacecraft integration and testing.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you’ll work across design, analysis, and test, helping bring complex satellite systems from concept through to launch readiness.
What You’ll Be Doing
Leading mechanical design and modelling of MGSE and satellite subsystems
Creating detailed design documentation including manufacturing drawings and interface control drawings
Supporting AIT activities including fabrication, assembly, integration, and environmental testing (vibration, shock, TVAC, static load)
Defining mechanical interfaces and ensuring system-level compatibility
Driving engineering trade-offs and structural decisions to optimize performance and manufacturability
Collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and test teams
What You’ll Need
6+ years of experience in mechanical design for spacecraft or aerospace systems
Strong background in CAD (Inventor preferred) and mechanical system design
Experience supporting AIT and integration/testing environments
Ability to produce high-quality engineering documentation and drawings
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
Nice To Have
Experience with PDM/PLM systems
Knowledge of FEM and structural analysis methods
Background in large welded structures or ground support equipment
Familiarity with GDIT
Location: Texas (onsite, relocation support available)
Type: Permanent
Compensation: Competitive base + bonus + equity/options
