As a Mechanical Engineer III, you’ll play a key role in designing mechanical systems for complex facilities while also taking ownership of project scope and mentoring junior team members. This is a great opportunity for an engineer who wants to grow into leadership while staying hands-on with design.
You’ll contribute across the full project lifecycle—from early concept through construction—working alongside a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, coordinated solutions.
Core Responsibilities
Design & Engineering
Design HVAC and mechanical utility systems for new construction, renovations, and process-driven environments
Perform engineering calculations, including heating/cooling loads, energy modeling, and system sizing
Develop construction documents, including drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and system layouts
Select and specify equipment and ensure designs align with applicable codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, etc.)
Project Ownership
Lead the mechanical scope for small to mid-sized projects or major portions of larger projects
Manage deadlines, deliverables, and mechanical budgets for assigned work
Contribute to all phases of design, including conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction
Collaboration & Coordination
Partner closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to deliver coordinated designs
Participate in site visits, field surveys, and construction support activities (RFIs, submittals, punch lists)
Ensure designs are practical, constructible, and aligned with project goals
Team & Quality Leadership
Mentor and support the development of junior engineers and designers
Lead quality checks and ensure deliverables meet CRB standards
Contribute to continuous improvement and internal knowledge sharing
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering (ABET-accredited)
5+ years of professional experience in mechanical system design (AEC environment preferred)
Professional Engineer (PE) license
Experience designing HVAC and mechanical systems for commercial or industrial facilities
Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals, codes, and industry standards
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in life sciences, pharmaceutical, biotech, laboratory, or food & beverage facilities
Familiarity with GMP environments or regulated industries
Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM tools
Experience working with contractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams
Exposure to sustainable design practices (LEED, WELL, etc.)
Experience with plumbing systems and/or field assessments
