Please note that for the first year, when not out on sites, this role will work from our office., We have a flexplace policy offered following the first year of employment.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

Investigate and analyze mechanical devices, products and designs
Conduct field investigations and perform forensic engineering & failure/accident analysis on incidents involving all types of machinery, mechanical equipment and devices including cranes, presses, pressure vessels and hydraulic, pneumatic systems, etc.
Conduct unbiased investigations for various clients
Responsible for retention and development of client relationships
Provide technical findings and conclusions in laymen's terms, both verbally and in written reports
Support conclusions by appropriate testimony in legal proceedings.
Deliver professional presentations, develop client relationships and promote self to client groups
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
Ability to accept and integrate constructive feedback into job performance
Regular and predictable presence at work

Position Requirements

B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering field
P. E. registration through testing or ability to attain quickly
Knowledge of machine design and mechanical systems
Minimum of three years industry engineering experience
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Strong writing and public speaking skills

Physical Requirements

Ability to travel 25% of the time
Ability to lift 50 lbs
Ability to carry equipment to and from job sites
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
Ability to maneuver in and around an accident site
Ability to drive in all conditions
Ability to fly on airplanes
Ability to visually inspect job sites and relevant artifacts
Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required by the work site
Ability to learn a new industry and obtain required certifications
