Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Fremont, CA

Responsibilities
Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for new products.
Develop design concepts and details for critical tool architectures, such as steel & stainless-steel structures, substrate holders, product handling systems, and process chambers.
Create supporting component designs such as component enclosures, water & process gas systems, heating/cooling systems, etc., to support critical subsystems.
Design system components to meet tool process requirements and customer specifications.
Produce 3D solid works models of components and mechanisms with an understanding of automation, mechanical motion, and force interactions
Create component designs with an emphasis on overall tool performance, customer specifications, and ease of manufacturing.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.)or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
3+ years related experience
Knowledge of sheet metal and sheet plastic fabrication, CNC machining techniques for metals and plastics, welding, and appropriate material selections
Understanding of vacuum systems and sealing techniques
Proficiency in 2D CAD and 3D Solid Modeling engineering software ex: (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, PDM, etc.)
Deep understanding of engineering concepts, design for manufacturability, and GD&T
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines
Excellent written and oral communication skills and acute attention to detail
Good judgment with the ability to make sound and timely decisions

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree (M.S.) or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
5+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience
Experience in the Semiconductor Equipmentindustry
Experience with Industrial Processing Equipment, Robotics & Wafer Handling systems
