The Mechanical Engineer plays a key role in shaping and improving our hose products and the way we make them. This position is hands-on, working closely with production, quality, and operations to solve problems, improve processes, and bring new ideas to life. From product development to troubleshooting on the floor, this role helps ensure our products perform at a high level, meet safety and regulatory standards, and keep our operation running efficiently.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and improve mechanical components and systems related to hose products and production equipment
Support new product development, including prototyping, testing, and validation
Analyze existing products and processes to identify opportunities for cost reduction, improved performance, and increased reliability
Partner with production teams to troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement practical solutions
Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, and work instructions
Assist with equipment layout, process flow improvements, and capacity planning
Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and regulations (NFPA, UL, FM, etc.)
Collaborate with quality to investigate product issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
Support supplier interactions, including evaluating materials and components
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional projects
Preferred Experience
Experience in textiles, rubber/plastics, or hose/tubing manufacturing
Familiarity with pressure-rated products or fluid transfer systems
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
2–5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Experience with product design, mechanical systems, and industrial equipment
Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Work Environment
Combination of office and manufacturing floor environment
Regular interaction with production personnel and equipment
May require occasional lifting, standing, and walking on the production floor
