Mechanical Design Engineer
Position Summary
EEE is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer responsible for the mechanical design and development of custom electrical equipment enclosures, switchboards, integrated load centers, and power distribution systems. This role focuses heavily on sheet metal design, busbar layouts, and manufacturable engineered solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Design & Engineering
· Design sheet metal enclosures and structural components for electrical equipment.
· Develop copper busbar systems and mechanical assemblies for power distribution equipment.
· Create detailed fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
· Collaborate with electrical engineering teams to integrate electrical components into mechanical designs.
· Ensure designs meet UL, NEC, and customer requirements.
· Support prototype development and product improvements.
Manufacturing Support
· Work closely with fabrication and assembly teams to ensure manufacturability.
· Resolve mechanical design and production issues.
· Support continuous improvement efforts focused on quality, efficiency, and cost reduction.
· Review production feedback and implement design revisions as necessary.
Project Coordination
· Manage mechanical engineering deliverables across multiple projects.
· Participate in engineering reviews and customer discussions.
· Support project schedules and manufacturing timelines.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
· Minimum 5 years of mechanical design experience.
· Strong proficiency with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
· Experience with sheet metal and busbar design preferred.
· Knowledge of UL891 and electrical equipment manufacturing preferred.
· Familiarity with manufacturing and fabrication processes.
· Strong organizational and communication skills.

Salary Range: $100,000 to $120,000
