Forensic Mechanical Engineer (EIT or PE)
Tired of supply chain delays and corporate red tape? Come build a career where you actually get to solve mysteries.

Salary: $85,000 - $125,000 (Based on experience) + Quarterly Engineering Incentives & Annual Bonus (Uncapped)
Location: Jacksonville, FL (Mix of field investigations and in office work)
Experience Level: 3–5+ years; EITs eager to learn or established PEs are welcome. We will train you and give you the tools to succeed.

Why This Role is Different
If you became a Mechanical Engineer because you love taking things apart, figuring out why they broke, and solving complex puzzles, you’ve found your home.

Our client is a premier forensic engineering firm looking for curious, self-motivated engineers. Here, you won't be bogged down by corporate administration, headcount politics, or supply chain issues. Your sole focus is the truth. One day you’ll be reconstructing a vehicle accident scene; the next, you’ll be diving into the root cause of a major water loss or inspecting a product liability claim.

If you want a dynamic career where you are trusted to work independently, spend time outdoors instead of chained to a desk, and continuously learn, let’s talk.

What You’ll Do (The Mission)
Investigate: Conduct hands-on, in-depth forensic investigations of vehicle accidents, workplace safety incidents, product failures, and property losses.
Analyze: Apply fundamental engineering principles to reverse-engineer accidents and failures.
Solve & Report: Help clients resolve complex losses and litigation requirements by translating your technical findings into clear, disciplined engineering reports.
Explore: Travel occasionally (day trips or short overnights) to wherever the evidence takes you.

What We Look For
We are looking for natural problem-solvers who can manage their own time and thrive in a friendly, collaborative culture.

The Essentials:
Education: B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience: 3 to 5+ years of practical engineering experience.
Credentials: A Professional Engineering (P.E.) license is preferred, but we will absolutely consider motivated EITs looking to grow into their PE.
Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills (you need to be able to explain the "why" to non-engineers).
Mindset: A self-starter who loves detailed work, enjoys being out in the field/outdoors, and is ready to travel for investigations when duty calls.
The "Nice-to-Haves" (Bonus Points):
Advanced degrees (Master's or Ph.D.).
Experience or certification in Vehicular Accident Reconstruction (ACTAR).
Fire investigation experience or certifications.
Prior experience as an expert witness.
What’s In It For You?
Financial Reward: Competitive base salary, a quarterly Engineering Incentive plan, and an annual discretionary bonus based on performance.
Growth & Mentorship: Comprehensive training and all the specialized tools you need to succeed in the forensic field.
Culture: A collaborative, friendly environment that respects your independence and sanity.
