Job Description

Join our team as a Mechanical Engineer where you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies specifically for PCB manufacturing. Your role will include reverse engineering existing components, reviewing customer designs, and creating manufacturable solutions. You will apply engineering principles to create original designs, utilizing CAD tools like Fusion 360 and Creo. Additionally, programming skills may be applied to support design automation and data manipulation. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with engineering teammates and project ownership while supporting large, ongoing projects with evolving design requirements.

Responsibilities

Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies related to PCB manufacturing
Perform reverse engineering of existing components and customer-supplied designs
Review customer designs, modify data, and create manufacturable solutions
Create original designs based on project requirements and engineering principles
Utilize engineering and design software such as Fusion 360, Creo, or similar CAD tools
Apply programming skills as needed to support design, automation, or data manipulation
Collaborate closely with engineering teammates and ownership on active projects
Think creatively and 'outside the box' to solve unique technical challenges
Support large, ongoing projects with evolving design requirements

Essential Skills

Mechanical engineering background with expertise in design and design software
Experience in reverse engineering and data manipulation
Familiarity with PCB manufacturing processes
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
Proficiency in CAD tools such as Fusion 360 and Creo

Additional Skills & Qualifications

1–2 years of mechanical engineering or design experience (more experience welcomed)
Hands-on experience with CAD/design software
Exposure to or interest in programming
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to interpret, manipulate, and generate technical data and designs
Comfortable working in a small, fast-paced manufacturing environment
Experience in reverse engineering or manufacturing environments
Familiarity with electronics manufacturing and Ohm's Law

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing setting with approximately 30 employees. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The company offers a collaborative, hands-on environment where engineers are involved in every phase of design, testing, and production. This role provides a long-term opportunity for growth within a company that supports cutting-edge electrical projects, including engineering, assembly, testing, and builds.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wappingers Falls, NY.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
