Role Overview
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a critical and highly visible role in shaping both current and next generation product lines. You will lead complex mechanical designs, manage customer and internal projects end to end, and work hands on with multidisciplinary teams to bring innovative automation solutions to life.
This role combines deep technical expertise, project ownership, and direct collaboration—from early concept through final acceptance testing. You’ll have the opportunity to influence designs, mentor others, and contribute to a culture focused on quality, innovation, and customer success.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Design & Documentation
Develop and manage SolidWorks parts, assemblies, drawings, and PDM records with strong revision control.
Produce GD&T compliant drawings optimized for the selected manufacturing methods.
Build and maintain BOMs and integrate them into the ERP system.
Create exploded views, work instructions, and customer approved models while protecting company IP.
Apply DFM/DFA principles to reduce cost, cycle time, and assembly complexity.
Manufacturing & Assembly Support
Apply hands-on knowledge of machining, sheet metal, 3D printing, and assembly techniques.
Partner with Manufacturing Engineering and Production to ensure efficient build processes.
Create detailed assembly instructions and support build efforts directly on the shop floor.
Work closely with suppliers to quote, procure, and validate components.
Lead training for assemblers and technicians on new and existing products.
Project Management & Customer Engagement
Own projects from order receipt through shipment and acceptance testing.
Manage schedules, budgets, BOMs, and design updates to meet committed ship dates.
Document design changes and keep production documentation current.
Maintain clear and proactive communication with internal teams and customers.
Partner with Sales and Quoting teams to support new and evolving opportunities.

Depending on experience and business needs, this role may also include:
Engineering Leadership
Serve as a focal point for the Mechanical Engineering team.
Lead design reviews, daily stand ups, mentoring, and technical direction.
Ensure consistency in engineering standards and best practices.
Quality & Compliance
Verify parts and assemblies meet design intent using appropriate inspection tools.
Support MRB activities, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
Partner with Quality Engineering and Production to resolve issues efficiently.
Supplier & Technology Integration
Identify and qualify new suppliers.
Collaborate with Controls Engineers on sensors, safety, and system integration.
Design systems with machinery safety at the forefront, working with certified safety experts.
What You Bring
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (required).
3-5 years experience in product design, manufacturing, and assembly.
Significant experience using SolidWorks in a production environment.
Strong understanding of industry standards, safety practices, and regulatory requirements.
Ability to design within budget constraints and production realities.
Strong project management skills and comfort handling multiple priorities.
Understanding of cost, supply chain, and manufacturing trade-offs.
Work Environment & Logistics
Standard Hours: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM (flexibility required to meet customer needs)
Location: Phoenix, AZ 85027
Travel: Less than 20% on average; may vary by project
SALARY
$100-$120k base salary plus Bonus
