Our client is a power distribution component manufacturer with a long and exciting history. They are primed for aggressive expansion into new and existing markets. We are seeking Mechanical Design Engineers with a focus on medium voltage experience to create and release mechanical drawing packages for our growing customer base.
Mechanical Design Engineer Medium Voltage Responsibilities
Develop and update mechanical approval and manufacturing drawings inclusive of sheet metal fabrication details and Bill of Materials
Design sheet metal enclosures for electrical equipment according to ANSI/NEMA standards for both indoor and outdoor installations.
Prepare equipment plan, elevation, side and cross-section views, and lifting details.
Create component arrangement drawings based on the electrical bills of material.
Provide technical support to sales and distributors as needed
Support company-wide initiatives, including quality improvement projects to maintain best-in-class service
Mechanical Design Engineer Medium Voltage Qualifications
BS in Mechanical Engineering and 3+ years experience in sheet metal electrical enclosure design and fabrication OR
Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology with 3+ years of sheet metal electrical enclosure design and fabrication
Experience working with medium and/or low voltage products.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD or other software
Experience with the design of sheet metal enclosures for electrical equipment and familiarity with UL and ANSI/IEEE standards for metal clad and metal enclosed medium voltage switchgear
Familiarity with utility specifications such as EUSERC, COMED, WE-Energies and PSE&G a plus
